The first Rough Cuts of 2008 has been and gone, and thank you to all who were able to find time over the Christmas period to submit to what was a really successful show.
So we’re onto the second one already, and as it falls on the eve of Valentine’s Day and we’re hoping to get some (sketches that is), the theme is Valentine’s.
Maybe you’ll write about the day itself, or be moved to write about the glory of romance in general and how love can blossom in the unlikeliest of places. Or maybe you’ll write about the cynical exploits of the greetings cards industry, and the fact that this so called ‘special day’ manages to make otherwise good people feel a murderous rage towards all these smug couples that make it impossible to get a table in any restaurant on the only night that they might actually want to give themselves the night off from sitting in their pants and slippers watching endless repeats of Friends on their own. Or maybe not, it’s really up to you.
As always, there will be a general section as well so send in anything you find funny. We’re doing a show in London again on the 7th February, as well as the Glasgow one on the 13th so there’s a couple of deadlines – both with the same brief though.
Happy writing
Chris Grady
London Deadline – 1st February
Glasgow Deadline – 8th February
These guys are one of the few people looking for generic skits and where as it's unpaid it's good way to get your stuff seen.
ApparentLY near Leister Square tomorrow should be able to google it.
