Dear all,
Watson's Wind Up on BBC Radio Scotland is apparently looking for new topical Scottish themed sketches.
If you Google them it should come up.
Has any one had anything accepted yet, I haven't.
Any tips?
Thanks.

Matthew Stott may have had some stuff excepted in the past... (that maybe bearded ladies) I'm not sure.
Either way I've submitted generally heard nothing from them, but worth ago, worth trying to look up scottish news of course before putting pen to paper.
It's produced by the Comedy Unit in Glasgow, who do accept sketches generally. They're quite friendly. They also organised Channel 4's Gags to Go competition last year.
I have heard back from them with submission to Watson's saying they liked a sketch but it wasn't Scottish enough! Admittedly it was about the England football manager's job. You should be able to hear the show on Listen Again, and it's worth it because they do a fairly narrow range of material. My impression is you'd do better with a very short sketch or a gag. There aren't that many longer sketches and I doubt they'd take them from a writer they didn't know.
Also it is very Scottish, which is fair enough, as it's on Radio Scotland. I just wish there was an English or British equivalent. You're made if you're an expert on Scottish football though.
thanks guy, and I'll go for a jimmmy kranky, short, scottish, and distrubing
I've had stuff on it. I just went to a few Scottish media/news papers websites and kept up to date with what's making the news up there.
I also wish there was an English version.
So Containsnuts, did they tell you you were in before the show went out, or did you have to listen to the whole show? I'm not sure how many times I can withstand listening to mirthless gags about Frank McAvennie's drink problems, whilst slowly realising my brilliant submission is lying in a shredder outside.

No, I found out myself by listening. My last one was only two sketches in but I enjoy most of the show.
I've searched around the net, and it appears as if philipdiffer@comedyunit.co.uk is the e-mail address to send Watson's Wind-up submissions to. Does anyone know if this is not the case?

He's your man, sorry didn't realise people were after that address.
