Space hoppers, Watney's Party 7, Ringo Starr did a cover of 'You're Sixteen' (careful there Ringo), flares, Sonny & Cher got divorced, afro haircuts, George Foreman wins the heavyweight title, the IRA, Jimmy Connors, Joan Jett, Godfather Part II, Labour wins the general election, George Foreman loses the heavyweight title, Ted Bundy, Monty Python ends (for a while), The Man with the Golden Gun, The Wombles, Blazing Saddles, Leonardo DiCaprio was born, Mama Cass died, The Shining (the book) and Ceefax.

I had a great time in 1974, mainly because I only had another 7 years left to wait until my own birth.
