I'm the same way with Jesus.

Final Draft is when you get paid. Looking forward to seeing you in Doctor Who Dolly D!

:)

:O

Who are you sending them to?

Beeb. And some indie prodcos. And also a tricky to get friends and family to review it if you can't e-mail them a copy...

Just convert from FD to PDF and send them that way.

Yeah, I use CutePDF for that, but it never seems to work that well - it's especially bad at handling scene breaks. I should probably upgrade my version of FD.

In the 'Save As' option on FD you can produce a pdf version (which will include the title page). :)

True dat.

Not with the 'free' version unfortunately. I can't really justify going to the full version until the writing starts paying for it.

Celtx has a free pdf version.

Just click on Transcript and save that.

Celtx is geared more towards film scripts though it seemed to me last time I looked at it. Plus you can't create custom layouts.

This thread's a bit depressing. Have you guys never heard of 'stylesheets' on word processors?

FD is just a word processor with some pre-prepared styles. You can make them yourself in five seconds, like Matt says. I bet 75% of people who buy FD have already got a word processor. You're just buying another one with a menu feature already activated.

And in all honesty you don't really need to 'buy' a computer.
It's just a lot of wires and shit joined together.
Beats me why people shell out for these 'off-the shelf' solutions when a few months work with a soldering iron will get you something just as good for a fraction of the cost.

What is a good price for Final Draft 8?
