I keep having cats walk in front of my car...they seem to move so slowly like they know no fear...else they're on drugs.

Cat's are idiots when it comes to road safety. One of mine, the oldest, spent his youth continually washing his belly in the middle of the road.
Just drive mega slowly, and don't adjust your radio when you're near cats' houses.

I have a stray that visits my garden for food - regular as clockwork for over a year - and I haven't seen him since last Tuesday. I hope he's out tomming and not been squished by a car.
