He is very likely to be male - over 75% of ginger cats are.

True, true. In the winter, I pick him up in the mornings and we have cuddles in the dim light of the hall so he gets used to the light and isn't blinded by me putting the light on in the kitchen.

I am quite insane about him. He is going to die soon though as he's very old. I will be gutted. :(
