Muffin Madness

I don't think I've posted a script on here in at least six months so I thought I'd post this little effort. I'm hopefully filming the live-action part in a week or so, I have no idea when I'll get time to do the animation though :( It's going to be stop-motion.

Hope you like, comments appreciated.

I think that is brilliant mate. Truly! :)

pretty damn good

Very Good Shoepie!

Sort of saw the ending but when it's actually filmed I don't think you will. Nice and off the wall. Look forward to finished product.

Really enjoyed this.

I thought the flashback sequence would look better shot on green screen though. That way you could have the live action Steve being chased by malignant muffins.

And as an alternative to what is admittedly a pretty obvious ending, how about Dave starts off by saying this is his last muffin, so Steve can't have any. Steve says ok, and tells his story, explaining why a muffin is the last thing he would want. As a spot of implosion therapy, Dave leaves the muffin on the table. As soon as he's out of the room, Steve scoffs it - the entire story being a ruse to get his muffin.

Good alternative. I agree that the ending is more or less obvious but I thought I'd just say that to me it was obvious in the way that the ending of a Superman movie is obvious (Superman will eventually triumph). It doesn't spoil the enjoyment and satisfaction of watching the movie, in fact, we want the ending that we know is coming (if you see what I mean). Also, I think that the animation element works really well. So it's horses for courses (as always). :)

Thanks for all the nice comments everyone. :)

Good point about the ending being a bit obvious. Although it's cheesy I do quite like it in horror films when the bad guy turns up alive at the very end. It's like what Frankie said about wanting what we know is coming.

I'll now give it some thought on how I can disguise it more. Thanks for the alternative ending suggestion too David. I like it, I think that could work well adding a different twist on the story.

How about as he goes to bite the muffin, the muffin bites his tongue and as the lead is attempting to pull the muffin off his tongue so that it's eye-to-eye with him, then the muffin does the reveal.

Liked it and the build BUT as we're an audience of writers we tend to read LOOKING to second guess the end. Some of us will, some won't. Only the ones that second guessed will comment about it so it's an unfair sample, and you need to bear that in mind if or before you do any editing.

I think an average audience (forgive me, but you lot ain't exactly a normal audience Laughing out loud ) won't see the end.

SlagA I does think that's excellent but it's down to you Shoepie.

As a "normal" audience...I liked it, made me laugh and can't wait to see it! :)

I liked it and the ending made me smile.
