This, I'm afraid, is just one of things that's part and parcel of being part of the Canal Cafe. For as long as I can remember (coming up to 10 years now) doing a Dennis Waterman - y'know, write the theme tune, sing the theme tune - is something that we, as writers, just have to live with because by and large, it pays not to get too bitter and twisted about a system you cannot change.

At the end of the day a peach of a sketch or a diamond of a song won't be ignored and THAT'S how to beat the system. If work doesn't make the running order then it really wasn't good enough which should only act as a spur to get on with what we, as writers, do best - write.

Hi Phill, Thanks for sharing. You should consider being a teacher, thanks to the advice in these links I wrote a sketch and have now been invited to write for one of the topical stage shows on a regular basis. So cheers!

Yep! My right leg is half the size of the left! All my muscles have wasted away! I have shaved now, but the hair on it was sooo long! I have never seen my leg hairy before! It was gross!
