Does anybody else find it sad that the Republican party, similar to the Conservative party a decade ago, seems to have been hijacked by fanatical idiots? I caught some of Mitt Romney's concession speech the other day and was staggered by the myopic and frankly hateful opinions of a man that could very nearly have ended up running the free world. Not least his dismissal of the entire European continent as some sort of modern day Sodom and Gommorrah.

True, but not many countries occupy such a major position on the world stage as the USA. And you only have to look at the legacy that George Bush has left across the globe to see how electing these nutballs affects all of us. In fact, there's probably a good argument for banning American's from voting, and letting the rest of the world vote who the next POTUS will be.

Assuming Obama takes the Democratic nomination, I think the biggest problem he's going to face isn't that he's black but that the Republicans - and their mates in Fox Media etc - will paint him as an appeaser and friend to terrorists.
