Has 2008 Turned Everyone into Arseholes? Page 2

Just an aside....

Why are the posts appearing an hour ahead?

Errr

Weird!

Did you not get the memo? We all had to send the government back an hour of our lives... didn't you?!? :O

Actually, its a good point. As was revealed the other day, the low-powered hamster run server we're currently on is based in America - the clock on the server must have changed (do they do daylight savings over there?). Aaron will hopefully know how to make the adjustment to get the board back into sync.

Try a CTRL-ALT-HEADBUTT

Laughing out loud and ouch.

Laughing out loud

And I can't say I'd noticed. Will change it in a moment though.

I'm only asking because the wildfire action on these threads of late has reminded me of some bad old days when I gave up on it all for a bit.

For whatever reason, people seem very prone lately to:
- argue the toss over nothing;
- put their stuff up for critique, and complain when it's critiqued;
- critique the style of critique;
- show off in critiquing;
- pick fights;
- name call;
- state opinion as fact (ok, that will never go away);
- dismiss the rudeness and offensiveness of others, but ignore their own rude and offensive behaviour (moderators are guilty of this too - possibly more than most - in my opinion).

Happy new year!

F**k off.

:O I suppose I should point out that that was a joke!

Might I say how glad I am that people seem to have calmed down and chosen to concentrate their efforts on writing, sharing information and constructive critique now.

Let's put early January's unpleasantness down to a festive hangover and a handful of self-styled 'fire brands'. This forum is a superb resource and a great place for anyone interested in comedy to network and learn.

Peas out.

Its also one for the irony thread

Can anyone put up a hypothetical example? . . .

I quote the wrong post there, didn't I?

I mean an example of opinion as fact.

Mmmmm ... Coppery.

The polite and correct method is explained in my post. Critiquing for Dummys.

Correct method of what? Sorry Jerf, you're not making much sense.

Critiquing......for Dummys, or is it Dummies?

Are you trying to get me the the sack

Ah I see. Well let's hope everyone is polite in their posting. :) Makes good times for all then!

And I believe it is "Dummies!"
