One-liner v Situation Jokes

Just wanted to know what people on these boards preferred to watch. Comedies that have a lot of one-liner/wordplay jokes such as Not Going Out, My Family, After You've Gone, Green Green Grass, Still Game etc or comedies where the comedy comes largely out of reality, contradictions and situations like The Thick of It, Office, Extras, Lead balloon, Peep Show etc

I'm not saying compare the two lists of sitcoms as they are just a few from each style but do you prefer a particular style over the other?

If I really had to choose (life and death etc), I'd probably go for the former. But since I don't, then as long as it's actually funny, I don't care.

Yep, me too. Nothing else really for me to add.

Situations for me. Funny charactors in funny situations- can't fail.

I like both too, but I prefer situation more.

The latter, I think. You can still have gags in shows like that too. I feel often something is sacrificed in shows like those listed first.
