Help write sitcom on-site Page 8

What Slagothy said.

By the way Aaron this is the sitcom thread I was on about...

I've printed it all and sorry to say it's as flat as the proverbial pancake, however it's much better if you read it comments and all. I laughed my socks off because I was the clear winner. So the new premise could be; Sit-com writers, writing Sit-com. Interaction(verbal) between writers more important than script. Please, not only rude.

Would any contributor object to me sending the sketches including pithy comments to Liz Anstee,Head of Radio at Celador, any other suggestions?

any other suggestions?

Yes, see the "Crits you'd wish you could write" thread Laughing out loud

But seriously, I jape.

I wouldn't send a mish-mash of ideas and comments to anyone in the biz unless you never want them to respond to you ever again. Every approach has to be professional. So don't blow your chance to make good first impressions.

I'm curious as to why it fell flat when you printed it out? Can you explain?

SlagA There was less 'useable' material than I thought, if the target is 'mainstream' and it needs someone with 'know-how' to put it together.I've got to admit It's too much for me.

Ah, see what you mean. Plus the project needs structure to give it a progression and conclusion. That will be the hardest part too. Once a plot is established then you have to start hooking in made-to-measure scenes which means less free-form thinking and more "Write, damn you, write" shouting at the PC screen.

Maybe ask one of the contributors if they see a way forward and want to manage it for the group.

It might work as some sort of blog. Jerf is right. Reading it back with the comments and all is hilarious. I've just read the friction bit and between me and Jerf and we both come out as a couple of wankers! Perfect comedy material.
