Just did Matt Smith. Tricky.

Me too:

I couldn't get his jaw any squarer... and there doesn't seem to be an option for ears.

Well done, Raymond, I'm glad you had a go. It doesn't look like him though.

Yeah.

The likeness is in the three central elements - nose, eyes, mouth. That's why there isn't much customisation around the ears and jaw etc.

Ice warriors tonight, will they still have those hissy voices. They are the first monsters I remember really terrifying me, it seemed even scarier in black and white with Patrick Troughton.

That captain's hat seems a bit big.

It's amazing what happens when you employ a decent scriptwriter

Finally this half-series, an episode that I can say I liked without reservation. Um... apart from this reservation, the cartoon head. Awful. AWFUL. and why? Practical suit, practical arms and hands, then a dreadful cartoon head from twenty years ago. Just put a mask on an actor. Did anyone in the production think that head was good enough? Stupid.

8/10 from me.

You've got to love Clara, at last a companion that behaves in a natural way with some depth.

Watchable but nothing special. Neither the submarine nor the crew were particularly interesting, and it should have been far tenser than it was. And that spaceship at the end was rubbish. Still, better than singing girl last week.

SPOILERS SORT OF

It felt like a return to the Pertwee era and it was certainly alot more vicious.
Some very atmospheric filming and nice jokes. And the original Ice Warrior was rather menacing.

But again little tension and it felt rushed. Could hardly hear the dialogue over the bloody music.

But did the Dr just say "hey Ice Warrior don't be a dick and kill all the humanity."

and the Ice Warrior said.

"Ok and I'll get my mates in a space ship to rescue you all sorry I butchered most of the crew."

Atmospheric production, a sense of jeopardy for once, and Clara is proving a significant upgrade on the dreadful Amy...

But not much of a storyline and a piss poor resolution. Gatiss may have been going somewhere with the MAD stuff but if so the script must have been butchered because it all ended up incredibly trite.

And Ice Warriors should never get their kit off. If you can't come up with an interesting answer to what is inside the suit then leave the suit on.

The tension ran out about half way through.

And why didn't anyone use the electroprod when the warrior was actually trying to start a nuclear war?

Ultravox jokes were good.

Loved David Warner's very Doctor-ish character. Great update to The Ice Warriors themselves; re-introduced well, enjoyed the new addition of them leaving their suit, and, as in the past, made more rounded than straight up nasty beasties. Look forward to them coming back.
