Now on the one hand I love this novel, but on the other hand it kinda shows up so many of the issues with Dr Who in the era.

But if you like Pertwee era Dr Who it's well worth it.

I like the ropy FX, they add to the charm. I've just finished watching Terror of the Zygons, now that was worth a chuckle.

Interesting Zygons along with the Cybermen were amongst the best monsters of any show of that era for me.

I haven't read any of the Target books in over a decade. I used to collect them when I was a little kid, but never read them. Read a few when I got older, but then my Who obsession died for about a decade. Must search some of them out. The Web of Fear was a good one from what I recall. I also think I enjoyed the novelisation of The Deadly Assassin more than the television version.

I had a complete collection of them and fighting fantasy books

If I kept them I could probably. Sell them and retire to be a pirate or summat

I don't think the Target books are worth that much. Usually go for a couple of quid on ebay. You could definitely get an hour with a high class escort though and she might even take her bra off.

I too collected the Target books as a boy. It saddens me that I threw/gave them all away when I entered manhood. Brain of Morbius was my favourite because I like things involving brains.

I'm looking forward to watching that episode. All the titles of the episodes in series 13 look amazing though, they're all "Terror of the <something>" or "<something> of Doom".

I watched Brains of Morbius about 20 years ago and never had any compulsion to watch it again. Might be worth revisiting.

RTD ERA OF DOCTOR WAS EPIC AND AWESOME! Moffat era is okay...

Surprised you could find '10' awesome RTD stories.

RTD wrote awesome episodes!

With Moffat, he has some brilliant episodes but most arent.

This is really turning into a classic rock vs hipsters debate.

'Music / Doctor Who these days really sucks'

'Shut up Grandad, Justin Bieber / New Who is fantastic'

And yeah, I have no problem comparing New Who to Bieber.

Because you want to do a sex on it?

Huh?
