Doctor Who... Page 921

inferno is bascially a silly old romp reminesent of stargate sg1

now check out the master centric sequel that came out in book form later. Absolutely brilliant the problem was a decent idea over stretched under funded and because ofthe length was over written.

SAme problem with robots of death there is a reason that scifi and other channels will pay double the price of who, to show old star trek over and over

both are bad scifi who is poor telly. Its because of the budget and the bbc studio system but well thems the facts

3 of your suggested new whos are poor, turn left maybe one of the best scifi episodes from any series

upthere with the monsters are expected on maple street

old who atlast exists as a free show on YouTube there can be no greater ignominy

Classic Who had a lot of shit in it, it also had a lot of brilliant stuff. I mean, that's one of the reasons it lasted so long, and it has so many fans. You don't last this long by accident.

One of the problems with the show at the moment is Deja Who. Whether or not you think Moffat's a self-satisfied idiot or the greatest showrunner since time began, the fact remains we've pretty much seen everything he has in his bag of tricks. The teaser trailer for the next series - or half a series - looked pretty much the same old same old.

That said, I'd wager that Moffat will leave at the end of this series. He's enough of a writer to know that the time to bow out is when you've steered Who through it's fiftieth year. Hopefully then they'll get a bit of fresh blood and someone who can inject a bit of inovation into New Who.

I think the second half is going to top the first. They've cut the Ponds loose, and we have episodes from the likes of Gaiman and Luther's Neil Cross to come.

How many episodes is it? About 7 or 8? Doesn't seem many.

Poor you. You don't have a clue, do you?
If they are on YouTube, you should watch them. You might learn something.

Robots of Death is fantastic. Although I don't actually own it on DVD...

Moffat is quoted to have said that he has already written Matt Smiths regeneration scene. So, it looks like DW is stuck with Moffat at least until Smith leaves!

The Doctors Wife was terrible.

I watched them, well I made it a whole 2 episodes of robots of death.

If you liked that, then like goblin brand meat puddings.

I guess someone had to.

Nope it was one of the 5 best episodes ever.

If you watch out why it is, you may break your addiction to second rate scifi.

Which I suppose is ultimately harmless, I hope.

I thought Gridlock was quite good. That's the one with Father Dougal as a cat isn't it? And at the end there was that massive face thing?

I'm watching old Who right now (got up to Tom Baker) and while in general I'm really enjoying it, the bad episodes are f**king terrible.

Unfortunaley, Classic DW was never loved by the BBC. McCoy's episodes cost about £50,000 each (25 min), while NuWho was £1 million, reduced to £800,000 when Smith joined.

Gridlock was so boring. It had the Macra at the end, but they did nothing.
Forgot to add The Power of Three to my NuWho Crap list.

No, I thought it was rather good.

If it hadn't been written by Gaiman, it would have been panned!

Nah, there's no conspiracy; most people don't know who he is, or don't give a toss if they do. A lot of people just liked that one.

Thing is I actually wish I liked old Who more than I do. Really I do, honest beleive me.

Part the problem is I read pretty much all of the VA and Target books before rewatching the old series.

Now a lot of the books are better than the series. Why? No ropy fx, bored extras and perhaps most importantly. They're not stretched out to fill deathless hours of television.

I like the ropy FX, they add to the charm. I've just finished watching Terror of the Zygons, now that was worth a chuckle.
