Doctor Who... Page 915

The reference to The Web of Fear being set in 1975 means that Colonel Lethbridge Stewart retired before he became a Brigadier and joined UNIT!!! The Invasion took place a couple of years after the events in the underground.
Why didn't Moffat simply set Web of Fear in the year it was made? (1968).

The opening titles were cheap and nasty. Not much improvement with the theme tune, which changed 4 times in the first 5 years.

The comedy turns were terrible.

The TARDIS interior looked like a kids play set (perhaps a Christmas toy for next year?)

Still look crap!

Yeah, they looked awesome in the original series...

The slight redesign is a definite improvement; they're sleeker.

Which ones?

60s Cybermen win for me. Even the original cloth face ones.

Yeah, I quite like the cloth faced ones. They're pretty menacing somehow.

You get much more sense of the horror of the idea, that these are people who are turning themselves into something else, and only this thin cover hides whatever mess their half dead faces look like. Where as since then, they're just much more like full on robots; the horror of the situation is hidden more. Less half zombie undead machines, more sci-fi robot.
