Nice jumper...
Doctor Who... Page 820
That's probably not official as 'in character', just something to show the press.
It'd be nice if she was a jumper wearing bookish geek, actually. A bit like that girl who was in Being Human recently, only less manic.

What's the betting she's actually predictably feisty?

Because everyone who works on Doctor Who is so unbelievably original, I bet someone watched The Killing and exclaimed in an overexcited, high pitched, middle class squeel - 'Let's give her some knitwear like Sarah Lund, won't that be funny?! Snort, snort!'
Fur bikini or GTFO.

Well, she'd have to be a bit that way, or develop so she becomes that way, otherwise she wouldn't really work as a character in the sort of show this is. The companion has to already be, or quickly become, curious, brave and adventurous.

As I said, probably not her in character, probably just wearing her own clothes, like the first Matt Smith photoshoot in front of a Tardis prop. Could be wrong, of course, but seems very early to show the actual character, I imagine it's just for press.
Like these when Smith was cast, and a lot of people were moaning 'he's an emo Doctor, no!' or some such stuff:

I don't think that would suit the Doctor at all. But each to their own.

I was referring to James Corden.
I'm convinced that it's her costume and not her real clothes. She has kind of a round face and you wouldn't wear such a high necked round collar because it makes you look like Bod.
Having said that, she might just wear it in the first episode before they give her something decently sexy to wear.
Yes dear, I'm sure that's it.
You're the only person left who thinks women exist on TV only to look sexy for slightly pervy men. Everyone else has realised it's no longer the early '70s.
She's there for the girls who watch to identify with. So you keep wishing for the bikini. It ain't gonna happen.
Watch Babestation.

Whereas in Doctor Who, they exist to get kidnapped, scream and fawn all over the male lead like a dopey puppy. Go sister!

I doubt it, as they would probably release a picture, first of all, when she's about to start filming, which I don't think they do for the Christmas ep for a while yet, and secondly, with the Doctor beside her in some; and also, it would probably look better than the pic they've released. Obviously you could be right, however.

As we all know, that is never a good thing. So I've changed my mind and hoping that it's own personal bad taste in clothing in the pic.
I wonder if her character will be another dull but feisty contemporary Earth girl or if they'll take a risk and make her an alien or from history - like a sexy Nazi.

I'm not saying they do a good job of it.
What would be good is if the new companion had to kill off the old companion.
In a Hunger Games style.

Your Karen Gillan hatred is sooo transparent.
