Doctor Who... Page 537

The Angels was good. But once they spoke and started chasing people it lost a touch of tension.

Plus the Angels were originally a clever mcguffin and a pain in the arse.

Matt Smith is ace. And rather better actor than Karen (you're right about that Zoo).

.

The Angel's episode was Aliens to Blink's Alien. i.e an exciting sequal that failed to understand what made the original so scary.

I actually found them more scary and effective this year, to be honest.

The opener was fun, but this one probably benefited from having less of the adult Amy, surely the Doctor's most smugly irritating assistant since Bonnie Langford.

The Angel's episode was Aliens to Blink's Alien. i.e an exciting sequal that failed to understand what made the original so scary. It did gain immensely though from terrific performances from Ian Glenn and the Moll Flanders woman.

You mean the booby lady surely?

Ian Glenn was ace.

Are you serious?

Really? It was a very fun episode though, so I can see why it would appeal so strongly.

Yeh I liked the stripped down feel of it. Amy is a little annoying in large doses. I'd of still had Corden and woman burn up together but it's a small thing really.

You're having a laugh, BSG in particular was much more tense.

I remember gripping the edge of my seat often thinking "When will it end!!" ;)

I was literally on the floor.

Course you were.

Was there some significance to the peculiar portrait in the passageway?

That was bloody terrifying.

Looked a bit like John Waters though.

Enjoyable as Saturday's ep was, I do hope next season will have a little more dramatic depth to it. Been very light and humourous this season.

Not really; it is just that the comedy has worked and the drama has flopped.
