Torchwood is headed for the US: http://www.thrfeed.com/2010/01/fox-readying-us-version-of-torchwood-.html#more
Fox actually. Soooooo..it may get a one or two episodes before being canceled.
It's rumored John Barowman will be in it along with Davies writing the episodes and the original producers.
I thought every season except "Children of the Earth" specials were pure garbage. So I'm a little worried but I'm a sucker for punishment because I'll watch anything that is Who.
Aaaaaanything *clicks on K-9 TV show* *shudder*

How well John Barrowman get past Murdochs gay detecting sniffer dogs?

You going for it?

The prequel for the Murka maybe? How he got turned to evil by a painful affair with a Kryton.

From the guidelines:

WHAT WE DON'T WANT
- Stories in any form other than the single, self contained 25-minute episode
specified, eg 4 x 25 minute episodes. NO EXCEPTIONS!
- Established characters, settings or monsters, e.g. the Brigadier, Peladon, the
Cybermen. NO EXCEPTIONS!
- Stories dependent on references to other Doctor Who adventures, in any media,
seen or unseen, eg the Time War. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Please note that proposals that ignore any of the above points will go unread. Really, really - NO EXCEPTIONS! Similar criteria applied the last time BF invited submissions from new writers, and still we received a great many submissions featuring old companions, old monsters, etc. Please: use this opportunity wisely – don't waste it on a story about how Dodo's half‐Terileptil son became the Black Guardian, or whatever.

WHAT TO SEND US
- An outline of no more than 500 words in length, detailing the beginning, middle
and end

Sounds a good opportunity. And if nothing else, a way to polish synopsis writing.

Ooh, I'll give this a go! I've had a Who story in my head for ages!

So, how are you going to approach the character of Nyssa?

Well, she didn't have a whole lot of personality in the show, so it won't be too hard to capture her 'voice'. :D She was a dull companion though, don't you think?

'What is it Doctor?' I've nailed it!

Sounds a good opportunity. And if nothing else, a way to polish synopsis writing.

Here's my Polish synopsis:

Doctor wylewa się kawa z perculator, a następnie oddał go dobrze wymieszać. Wolała to zrobić. No

Oh sorry!
I thought you said "And if nothing else, a way to Polish synopsis writing. "

:P

Aggh, bad formatting ruined the gag.

Add some gayness and Murray Gold noise and that's a top notch RTD script ready for shooting.

I wish Griff and Stott success in this endeavour, so that once working for Big Finish they might meet with fellow Audio Who scribe Gary Russell and could ask him to sign my set of Famous Five paperbacks with covers from the 70s TV series.

As for the brainy (not too boring) Nyssa, Sarah Sutton explains what her character was all about in an interview on the Terminus DVD. She was a bit flawed from the start, what with her father being named Tremas for no good reason other than JNT's fondness for anagrams. But for a character originally intended for only one story, she was slightly less annoying than Tegan.

I wish Griff and Stott success in this endeavour,

Thanks, but I don't expect to hear anything back, if I manage to get something sent off in time; no doubt there will many, many submissions for them to wade through.

I have the basic premise for mine ready, and there's not a single monster or 'bad guy' in it. Obviously on to a winner there. Errr

I'm tempted to make a submission too, but this is a busy time of year for me (workwise) and I wouldn't have the faintest idea how to go about it, as I've never had an original thought in my life. I'll try to think of something during work tomorrow though. Like how did just Peter Davison and Nyssa end up in the TARDIS alone, as the Doctor had Adric and Tegan with him (when Nyssa joined) - and then Turlough once Adric had snuffed it, and Nyssa departed before Tegan and Turlough. Perhaps I could be creative and have Nyssa trapped into working in a Cyberman brothel and the Doctor has to rescue her, but he is distracted and gets infected with a cyborg STD, leaving Nyssa to save the day and rescue the Doctor. Not that I'm writing about what I know.

Are you Russell T Davies?

Like Empire of Death I'm assuming this story is set between Time Flight and Arc of Infinity.

From what I recall of my Big Finish listening, I think you're spot on.
