Doctor Who... Page 322

How long's Doctor Who been back on telly then? Must have missed this, is it any good?

No.

Appalling apparel and an ever so slightly vacuous look (above). I prefer to live in the past (sometimes):

Not true. Besides, I still have episode 3 of Tenko, where she showed the other POW inmates not to be afraid of undressing. Time has been kinder to Lis Sladen and Lalla Ward though.

There was a Doctor Who question in our weekly works Quiz last Friday.

When the Time vortex is Red, in which direction is the Doctor travelling?

I didn't know the answer at the time, but it was nothing that a bit of cheating couldn't fix.

Not sure if anyone or everyone knows it already, but I can tell you that the answer isn't 'North'.

Thanks.

??

I think that went straight under my head.

The answer was forward in time.
It's Blue when he's going back in time apparently.
:)

What a load of old rubbish. I thought it was all about temperature change or something. Oh, it's red. Hot sunny Ibiza here I come.

Or something else... like 'North'.

And because blue is funnier. ;)

No! Blue isn't funnier! Have important BCG threads all been in vain?

EDIT:
No, blue is funnier. Sorry for any confusion.

:D Blue reigns supreme!!

From RTD...

¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬

"It's my job to encourage new writers, as I always have done, but it's impossible on Doctor Who because of its volatile fandom," he says. "I have had to find writers myself because legally I cannot read [fans'] scripts as they will come back with their lawyers. It's the fans' fault for being so litigious. It's like taking a tiger by the tail."

He also avoids the legions of fan forums and message boards, revealing: "If a writer pipes up in a meeting about a fan suggestion from a forum, they are immediately chucked out. It is not a democracy."

While he highlights the importance of fans and acknowledges that Doctor Who is the "ultimate merchandise show", he quickly reiterates that followers are "important to the heart of the programme but not to the fiction of the programme".

When asked about writers who do read the forums and invite ideas, Davies snaps: "Haven't they got any ideas of their own? Creative people sometimes feel embarrassed about their own ideas but they need to grow a backbone."

¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬

Just so you know. Laughing out loud

He's a bit tough isn't he. I wouldn't sack somebody for using ideas (or even suggesting them) if they were from a forum. Let them proceed and get sued. More fun.

There are videos from Comic Con are on YouTube. Including a great new trailer for Waters Of Mars & Ends Of Time.

That Waters Of Mars trailer looks very good indeed. And how exciting is that little teaser for Tennants final two epsiodes? :) :) :) :) Really nice that one character in particular gets such a massive cheer from the audience.

I've just watched that trailer for his last story about six times in a row. It's odd how though there's nothing really in it, apart from flashing between a few faces, it feels really quite thrilling. But then I suppose the most exciting episodes for Who fans are always a Doctors first and last adventures. And the ones written by Steven Moffat.
