Doctor Who... Page 261

And I agree with you agreeing with me, Griff.

Philip Hinchcliffe is widely regarded as the best producer the show ever had. He is still alive and was taken off the series early under the old BBC producer system. Anyone wanting to make Who great again would come in and make him executive prod. or at least some sort of advisor to the show. That he is not connected is some sort of scandal. After all RTD has no more right to the Who franchise than anyone else.

An odd comment to my mind. Why should Hinchcliffe be involved now?! RTD has the right to it because the BBC let him, same as anyone else who has ever been involved.

I've just been on other sites looking at people's reaction, and you wouldn't believe some the comments that are coming out. Nice to come back here where people are more easy going.

The key thing to the success of the next Doctor will be the scripts, so hopefully things will pick up on that front, though obviously some of the aspects of the new show that I don't like will probably be retained. But fingers crossed, eh?

Sounds to me that they said to Moffat you can have whoever you want so long as he's young. Although I shouldn't assume Moffat would want an older actor I suppose.

Here I agree with Godot. Doctor Who's been mostly shit since JNT and RTD took over.

At least with Moffatt the scripts should be half-decent.

Its been mostlyshit since about 80/81, and yet you still watch it? Jesus, do you just hate yourself or something?!

In the show Moffatt said he definitely wanted an older actor, but then this bloke came in and just nailed it, so he had to go with him.

You're all assuming he was first choice. Somebody older might have turned them down.

Sorry Griff but I wondered this too. I mean about posting in here a lot and watching the show every week while you hate it, not about hating yourself!

I can't speak for Griff, but I generally don't watch things I think are shit. I only saw one episode of the last series of Who, three episode of series 2 of Gavin and Stacey and I didn't watch the G & S Christmas special.

Well, unless they are lying, they said he was third in and they knew straight away. I'm willing to give the bloke the benefit of the doubt until I actually see him in the thing.

To be honest I would hate to be in that position. Imagine getting the show you loved but with all those strings. :(

We've covered this before, Matt.

My apologies for not remembering every communication we've ever had! :D

As long as you don't forget that time you promised me 50% of the royalties should your sitcom be commisioned.
You warned me back then that you might forget about it, so I'm just reminding you.

He's a better choice than Tennant, because he's not had the nose job and teeth veneers, plus he looks weird whereas Tennant just looks like a thin c**t. And trainers with a pin-stripe three button suit - it's trying sooo bloody hard.

Strings? It was his choice of actor by the sounds of things, so, if anyone doesn't like it, his fault.

See, now we disagree. Tennant was great. He even made the terrible scripts mostly watchable.

Aw, you'd just been removed from Godots 'A Complete C**t' list too; welcome back! :D

I like him, he would be perfect for any role requiring a very thin man with an expansive smile, he's just not got that 'doctor-ness' to quote the production team -amazing they didn't notice.

It's not a list, it's a wall.
