Not very good really.
Same old same old as far as I can tell.

And yes, we get it, they're lesbians.

This. Didn't understand why it was 80 minutes either, as it did drag at times. Still, Capaldi was a nice fit, although like other recent incarnations the script let him down.

Ross Kemp was pretty good as that butler chappy though

Laughing out loud

Well it was an interesting one, the continual reference to the Dr having a young face to get a girl friend was a bit odd. Then you realise the first girl he met and chatted was Amelia Pond......aged 8. Followed by stalking her and her hubby through out their married life. Call Operation Yewtree interstellar/temporal branch as the Dr would appear to be a big nonce lost in time and space.

Well I liked the bit when old Dr phoned Clara and they were in Glasgow. Otherwise I stopped paying attention when the dinosaur died. Will give it another go next week.

What the hell have they done to the theme tune? It's awful

I think Capaldi is perfect for the role though

Probably the best since Tom Baker if I'm honest

It's just a pity they gave him a long drawn out dull debut

Anyway - this should be the last ever Doctor shouldn't he?

I was watching an old TB ep set on Galifrey the other week

And they were saying a time lord can only regenerate 12 times

And Peter is the 12th?

I'm sure if the next series is successful they will find a way get around the 12 regenerations.
Absolutely agree about the theme tune- and the new visual to go with it. If it's not broke then don't fix it.

I liked the new credits. All steampunky.

Pretty.

I liked them and the new Tardis.

Overall the episode was a mixed bag, more good than bad.

Spoilers ahoy.

Strax awesome fun as ever.

Nicely wrongfooting villain caught me out.

And making the dinosaur a sympathetic villain great idea.

Loved bringing back the cyborgs from girl in the fire place, a nice low key, unusual villain.

Peter Capaldi once they got over all that bollocks about him being a whacky amnesiac was great [although angry mirror good line]
I especially liked his final confrontation with the big bad, pouring him a whiskey and ambivalence on whether he fell or was he pushed great

But.

Enough with going on about lesbianism, bloody hell, yes we get it 2 of your characters are gay.

Less whacky humour please.

Stop doing big fight scenes they look terrible compared to any other show.

Stop obsessing on relationships, it's not a soap and that's just dull.
The whole final 10 minutes was a waste of nothing.
And Matt Smith turning up disapointing.

How do they get so much filler into such a short story.

I liked them and the new Tardis.

There are bookshelves! And a nice armchair. They've finally put in some fecking furniture.

Capaldi had a lot of nice lines. I think he's going to be great.

I think I thought oh dear when he had the early wacky lines, but then he just got into his groove.
That final battle was sweet.

I thought the credits looked like a daytime quiz show.
And I am SO over Steampunk.
It's not exactly new news, is it?

And my daughters said the womam at the end was the Tardis - I said she wasn't.
Answers on a postcard, please?

True, they should have made it steampunk years ago, but it's still a nice opening sequence. Usually they only alter it slightly for each series/doctor, I'm glad they made a massive change this time.

If she is she's a completely different access to the one in the Dr's wife.

I doubt it, I think Moffatt is going for another arc plot.

And we all know how that worked out in Indiana Jones.

I thought she was just a mental stalker deluded type. Who knows.

Good.

I have a horrible feeling she might be the 'running' baddie - which doesn't bode well.
