Everybody hates the english. They can still remember the time when we ruled the world, they didn't like that.
It'll pass over in a few hundred years or so, nobody hates the romans anymore.(except perhaps the milanise.)

Living in Bradford i see race issues on both sides, white against black, black against white, and black against black, i get on fine with most races, the ones find it hard to get along with are the Pakistani youth, they are so arrogant and self oppionated it's untrue. I have many true stories involving Pakistani's, so much so, a local playright has asked me to write a theatre play covering some of the things i've been through. At 47, i still play cricket, the abuse that whites and Indians get from Pakistani's is unbelievable. During the last season i stopped an Indian lad getting a hiding from his so called teamates because he dropped a catch, it wasn't an issue at the time,but the guy he dropped went on to make over a hundred, he was dropped first ball. At the tea interval his teamates were having a right go, shouting, pushing, shoving him around, i stepped in and was accused of being a racist. My only comment was,
"race is something you take part in, but never win"

Are you sure it was a race thing and not because the idiot couldn't catch?

No, but I think there's something about English culture which is revolting. I can't put my finger on it completely, but I think if one thing comes to mind, it has to be the tabloid view of the England football team.

It's the lack of unity. We've got nothing to "rally" around and to see as having in common.
Its OK to attack the rich and powerful as its the only way to ensure that they don't become little hitlers. Thats why all this private life thing is bull shit. You want a private life then don't steal everyone's money.
England has and probably always will be rich and powerful so its OK to be racist against the English. Same as its OK against the French, Americans, Germans and white people in general. Cos whats going to happen? Nothing.
I'm worried where this thread could head - just to remind everyone this forum is viewable by everyone so only say / admit something you'd be happy to stand in front of a large crowd and repeat.

Not just the tabloid view, we are when all's said and done a nation of looser's when it comes to sport. We still worship our football team even when they come forth, we worship our wonderful cricket team for winning the ashes, then getting trounced 5.0 in the next series. Our world cup winning hero's of rugby got to the final...and lost...And there is the sportsman of sportsman...Edie the eagle Edwards, he was given the keys to the city, opened supermarkets, i think he even went on Parki, why? Because he was the on the only Brit daft enough to junp off a ski slope and finish last, everytime. But we must remember the gold medal we won at the olympics, was it for swimming? Was it for track? No, curling, bloody curing! I think we are stiil the world champions at mopping the kitchen floor.And those ladies were Scottish...

May I suggest, racism is pandemic, every person on earth is racist to some extent. It's part of human nature,individual conflicts may have different titles. At the moment in Africa it's called tribalism. It doesn't mean everybody practices racism every day, but when push comes to shove people take sides along racial lines.
