Best closing line

... from a sitcom episode.

I was listening to Only Fools in the car this morning, the episode "Wanted" features one of my favourite ever closing lines.

Rodney has been hidden away in the tank room, believing he's wanted by the police because of Del. Del is drinking the water from the tank with his whisky. He then says to Rodney, 'Let's go home and you can have a nice hot shower', to which Rodders replies:

"I don't fancy standing under that water, Del, not after what I've been doing in it."

Beat that!

"This time next year we'll be billionaires!"

"I'm going to see Mr O'Reilly dear. Then I think I might go to Canada."

"You know who that is? Frank Spencer. Oh, take it again!"

Episode of Just Good Friends, when Vince and Penny crash into each others cars, and start shouting at each other. An old guy who sees the crash says "I'm a witness". Eventually they start kissing and Vince proposes to Penny and at which time he turns round to the old man and says.
"Will you be a witness"

That sounds sickly!

Dads Army episode: When You've Got to Go: Pike is being called up, so the platoon take him out to a fish restraunt. Pike announces at the meal that they won't have him, Mainwaring says why didn't you tell us all this before the meal, Pike says nobody has ever thrown a meal in my honour before and I wanted my Fish and Chips, I like fish and chips.

It is obvious what is going to be the last line of the episode at this point: 'You Stupid Boy'. I'd heard it said hundreds of times in the sitcom before- but at the end of this episode, it was the way Arthur Lowe said it. He paused- stared at Pike and said those immortal words.

Yes, great moment that.

And because of that single episode, I always want fish and chips when watching Dad's Army.

If that was the case with me- I'd be eating Fish and Chips about four times a week.

"Yes, minister"

Father Ted: Fascists dress in black and go around telling people what to do, where as priests... more drink!

"And people say she's just a big pair of TITS"

:D :D

Fawlty: "Duck's off, I'm afraid"

Young Ones,

Rik: Look out, Cliff.

"I ate all your bees!"
