Humour 'comes from testosterone' Page 2

I dunno, I've met far more women than men who are "arseholes".

I, as a girl, actually do feel that it's easier for men to be funnier than women. If you make a list of the best comics, in anyone's opinion, I can bet that the majority of them would be men.
As for testosterone being the cause, I doubt that scientifically. I just think there are more venues of comedy open to men than there are to women. Slapstick, general violence and swearing and the good ol' homo-erotic subtext between two characters, I feel, always works best when the characters are male.
That's why I've never written for a female character. It's a sad truth.

It is more acceptable for men to swear & be dirty than women. Other than that I think we are pretty much on an even keel. More men seem to want to be comedians as well.
