British Comedy Guide

So what did Santa bring you?

I got IQ book, Al Murray's pub landlord book and Roger's Profanisaurus. Also the Marvel Comics Fact File, a fat book with all sorts of artefacts to do with X-Men, Spiderman, Fantastic 4 etc. I was hoping for Fantastic 4 & Silver Surfer DVD but Santa must have forgotten - boo hoo!

I also got a printer that's a bastard to set up. I had to get my son to do it and we gave up.

Mostly shockingly geeky stuff. Like a map of all of London's railways in 1897. And an I-suspect-scale model of a Routemaster.

Oh, and I also got the Guv's Book of British Common Sense, but from the Mrs, not Father Christmas.

Wow! That's some hardcore geekery! You're part of a dying breed. I thought today's railway geeks would now all be over 30.

As for me, I just got a load of obscure music stuff, that probably wouldn't interest anyone on here. My sister is the only person who still buys me gifts that I don't ask for myself, beforehand, and I won't be seeing her until tomorrow. I've heard she's spent quite a bit this year, so it should be good.

Go on - tell us the obscure music stuff. Not that I'm bored or anything.

That's the one - I'm just about to read it now.

sopranos dvd - the final episodes
russel brand's book
some vouchers

very pleased

The Complete Works of Kent Pete.

That sounds like a shit book.

A cryptic crossword puzzle book, the six hour version of Das Boot ... and an alto sax (honked out a few notes already but you would be glad you don't live in my house!).

Dear diary,
I got : Russell's Bookywook, Karl Pilkington's book about holidays, Lee Mack Live and Flight of the Conchords dvds, a David Tennant calendar, a sonic screwdriver (it's ace), and the Blue Peter Annual as apparently I keep 'going on about Gethin'.
And some other stuff I can't remember.

Really? I wonder why...

There's loads of pictures of him topless in it.
Kids today are just sex mad.

And you're all the more thankful for it?

I know what'll be Laura's bedtime reading tonight. ;)

I got a share in a Wii & a lurrrrrrvely pair of long leather gloves from my son Kyle. He reckons they are very dominatrix & he thought of me as soon as he saw them. My other son Jack got me a guitar. It is a replacement for the one he smashed to smitherenes, whilst entering the house via our window instead of being boring & using the door. I also recieved a lovely beaded bracelet & some dosh.

Happy Christmas, what remains of it, and I hope you all had fewer rows than we did.
Nice haul of pressies including Life on Mars and Lewis DVDs, a Tintin book from my 10 year old, a scrabble type game, Lee Child novel, dalmation style sugar bowl, smellies and chocs etc. Between the six of us we have complete sets of dvds of Morse and James Bond and a series of Friends and Frasier too. It's pretty over the top and the puppy makes it difficult to watch uninterrupted tv at the moment so I'm not sure we will get close to finishing anything!
