Futurama 2008

It does exactly what it says on the tin.

Some nerd sent me this link to an interview with David X Cohen

I'm looking forward to the 22 minute DVD release of "Everybody Loves Hypnotoad" - I love that guy!

Can. Not. Wait. :D

Well, Bender's Big Score is out. Any one seen it?

What what?! Is Futurama back? Shit I hope so.

Yep, an 80 minute episode in the shops with three more coming out over the next 12 months.

Any one got opinions on it yet?

In the shops? Not on tv? :(

Not as far as I'm aware yet. But maybe Sky have broadcast it?

Benders Big Score is very good!

I liked the way they tied in some old loose ends, even the dog is shown to have had a reasonably good life with Fry rather than the tearjerker ending in the series. But there was a hell of a lot going on in that cryogenics lab that night - fry and nibbler (from series episode about the brains) and fry(s) and bender(s) from this episode. And I liked the end of feature twist which was very good. I'm kicking myself for not guessing it before it was revealed.

I think it'll repay more views. :)

I loved it too! Very smart and funny. My maths nerd friends pointed out to me that the movie has a bunch of inside maths jokes that I didn't get (because I suck at maths). Something about the license plate numbers of the taxi cabs in the movie equaling to some maths equation called CAB. And a bunch others that I eventually tuned out of because I got lost.

I thought it was good, but not up there with the TV series. I sometimes think the jump to the longer format is a mistake for some shows (as The Simpsons movie proved).

Here is a list of what feature length's are to come:
Bender's Big Score April 2008,
The Beast With A Billion Backs June 2008,
Bender's Game Nov 2008,
The Wild Green Yonder April 2009.

Disappointed to be honest. The quality of the animation did not seem up to the standard of the TV series, and the script was nowhere near as sharp. The Scammers (who were oddly reminiscent of Stretch, Fatso and Stinkie in Casper the Friendly Ghost) had a lot of screen time and just were not funny, whereas mainstays such as Zoidberg, the Prof and Zap were underused. There were also a lot of pointless unfunny cameos from minor characters. As for the songs, were they inserted as a parody of animation features or what???

I thought Futurama was coming back on Comedy Central?

I love Futurama but only managed about 15 minutes of Bender's Big Score. It seems to have lost its thang.
