Go Faster Stripe DVDs

Thought I'd put a bit of a plug on here for this great company, Go Faster Stripe. They basically sell DVDs of stand ups who wouldnt otherwise be able to bring out a DVD of their show due to the fact that they wouldn't sell enough copies to make it financially viable for whatever company might sign them.

They're fairly new, so don't have that much of a choice, but I already have a brilliant Stewart Lee show, and have just ordered a new DVD of the wonderful, possibly almost unheard of, Simon Munnery.

The DVDs are only a tenner or less and I think it's worthwhile checking them out and maybe buying a DVD to help support and keep going this worthwhile and important company; now fingers crossed they'll plonk Daniel Kitson down in front of a camera . . .

Back up of Stotty's words above. The Stewart Lee (1st Best Stand-Up, if you ask me) DVD is class and more than worth the money. They are pretty much a one-man and his dog operation so would appreciate any support and it means you may get to see that stand-up you like that wouldn't ordinarily have a DVD out!

I can certainly recommend the two Stewart Lee ones.

Just watched the Simon Munnery one, 'Hello'; great stuff-the man's a comedy genius and deserves a wider audience! All you comedy fans out there, I assume some of you on this comedy forum must be, and especially all of those who are giving stand up a go, should check Munnery out. He be the man.

Just found out about this company via a recommendation on Dave Gorman's blog. I think it's a fantastic idea, like an indie label for stand-up comedians. There are quite a few DVDs available now from the likes of Richard Herring, Robin Ince, Tony Law and Lucy Porter.

I think I'll be getting the Tony Law DVD as I thought he was fantastic when I saw him live recently. If you like surreal comedy you should check him out.

If you are a Richard Herring fan then there are also a number of posters and a book which you can buy through the site

Yes, I like this company. I've got Robin Ince's show while my brother has Lucy Porter's.

Yeah, this is a website that I would definitely recommend. I've got Stewart Lee' 1990s comedian and Lucy Porter. I was thinking of getting Simon Munnery's. I might just do that.

And I should mention: The extras go on forever! Especially Robin Ince's. Just over 3 hours in all according to the site.

Why is it all Richard Herring DVDs?

I saw him in Nottingham not long ago, even introduced myself - he was ok but I wouldn't pay £15 for his DVD - that seems like a complete rip off.

Do that very thing; 'tis great.

I've been doing a bit of looking around online and it seems there are a few recorded shows that haven't come out yet...

Daniel Kitson (recorded 2011)
Mark Thomas (recorded 2011)
Paul Sinha (recorded 2007? but his management went cold on it)
Stephen Carlin (recorded ???? but it hasn't been edited)

Their Fist of Fun series 1 DVD had hours of extras on. Series 2 out soon!

There are some Daniel Kitson ones on bandcamp at reasonable prices: http://danielkitson.bandcamp.com/

40p?! Outrageous.

Chris Evans (not that one) says that the Paul Sinha DVD looks to be happening now but has been really delayed. Yay!
