British Comedy Guide

How much comedy do you watch a week?

On average, and including television and DVD's, how much comedy do you get through a week? For me, I'd say it's about eight hours, although I suspect that'll rocket over Xmas...

Part of me misses the days before DVD and Digital TV, when comedy wasn't as readily available and you had to wait for your favourite shows to be repeated. It seemed more special then. And I'm not sure vegging out in front of sitcoms etc is a good use of my time.

I'd at least double your estimate.

Wish I had the time to watch more!

Can I put my name down for that too?

:D

And I'd say about 10 hours, maybe more?

Well its a lot less since I discovered ER which is shown 10 times a week :D

But I usually watch everything new plus the stuff they repeat on Dave if i'm bored

I do watch a lot of repeats of QI etc on Dave.
Then I always need a bit of special time with my Boosh dvds to get me through the week.
And if I'm near a telly at the requisite time, I watch most of the comedies that are on. Even the ones I don't like sometimes. Not sure why.

You have an addiction.

Welcome! :D

Not that kind of special!
Honestly. Rolling eyes

Although, after episode 5, it's not a bad idea.

Keep your hands where I can see 'em, missy!

Actually, that just makes it worse, doesn't it?

1 to 2 hrs if its a slow week

2 hours on DVD and then I'll give new comedy shows a chance, so add another half-hour/hour on there as well. Really have everything I like on DVD though.

Too much. About 5 hours on a Thursday, 3 on a Friday and a few more the rest of the week.

I'd say about 5 hours actually. What with Simpsons every night and the odd thing like QI or Flight of the Conchords. Then occasionally a DVD.

Not to sound like a total nerd. But loads. If I'm home in the day, I'll have either of the four Paramount, E4 (Scrubs and Friends), Or any of the UKTV channels on. I have been known to watch Paramount all Sunday (Usually two Frasier then two Becker) Of course if there is any comedy on the "normal" channels, I'll watch them. And I'm quite a weird sleeper. I cannot sleep unless the telly is on, otherwise I stay up all night thinking, I need it to stop my train of thought. So I'll usually stick a DVD on, it's usually Family Guy, Arrested Development, Yes Minister or Scrubs (as I'm very familiar with them, I know what's coming so I can ease of into a quiet slumber. My dreams are f**ked up though).

LOL, I could easily clear 20 hours a week. No problem.
