Why Bother? - Peter Cook and Chris Morris

Has anyone here heard the BBC Radio 3 show that the two great satirists did together?

It's some magnificent stuff and perhaps they would have done some more work together had it not been for Peter Cook's unfortunately early exit. I think that Peter Cook would have thoroughly supported Chris Morris' rise through the 90's.

Also, has anyone noticed the similarity between the style of the Why Bother? interviews and the Gerard Hoffnung/Charles Richardson interviews from the 1950's? If you enjoyed Why Bother? then you should certainly check out the Hoffnung/Richardson interviews as they are works of surreal genius.

Yeah, Why Bothers a great show, two great comic minds melding. In Morris, Cook had a comedian ready to push him and not just sit back and marvel, which had been a problem for Cook for a long time I think, he never found someone to work with who complimented him like Dudley Moore, in Morris there was someone who was fearless and ready to push and challenge him to get the best out of Cook. And the whole things improvised to, which makes it even more incredible.

I wish someone would collect together and put out on DVD some of Cooks other work, like the Clive Anderson special. Anyone who likes Why Bother should get Cooks 'The Misty Mr Wisty' as well, great comic monologues.

Why Bother and The Misty Mr Wisty are both excellent series, with the former boasting - in my humble yet totally biased opinion - the two funniest British comedians of the last half century.

The Clive Anderson interviews are all available to watch on yoooooutuuuube.

Is it weird to revive a thread that stopped 8 years ago? Anyway I think Why Bother? is the funniest audio comedy I've heard.
