Sounds shite in terms of winners, although I'm glad Peep Show and Curb won.

God, how embarrassing for the Not Going Out team to be up for awards and get beaten by Gavin & Stacey which doesn't have any jokes (IMO). How can Not Going Out be up for new comedy anyway when it's in its second series?

I think I'd rather lose in a good year for comedy than win in a bad one.

Because of the way these things work, the 2006 nominations would have been finalised before series one had even begun broadcasting.

First award of the night has been presented. Best New entertainment programme award, presented by Christopher Biggins.

Up for this award are Al Murray’s Happy Hour, Fonejacker, The Graham Norton Show.

The winner - Al Murray's Happy Hour.

I've got tickets for that 22 January. Looking forward to it.

I couldn't be arsed to apply for tickets this series. Mainly because, well, let's face it. I'm lazy.

+1 for Liz Smith for The Royle Family: The Queen of Sheba

Whilst I don't think it was the best ep ever, I cry like a little girl whenever I watch it. I didn't think the writers would be able to recapture the spirit of the original three series.

Oh, and Simon Amstell over Stephen Fry? In the words of GOB - "oh, COME ON!" Angry
