BBC3 live comedy show seeks stars of tomorrow

Zeppotron have been commissioned to make this and are currently trawling the web in search of new comedy talent. They're asking people to send links to dropbox@zeppotron.com .Apparently they'll consider anything from sketches to animation to stand-up.Just thought I'd mention it...

Cheers for the heads up. Appreciated.

Any other info?

Thanks niteowl - do you know if they only want already produced stuff, or are they willing to look at scripts?

Thanks niteowl, it's been quite a good month for production companies looking out for talent. Hopefully this trend will continue!! Even if they do keep knocking me back!

Is there any more information on this? Or just the email? Sounds interesting. Thanks for the heads up.

This is almost certainly for BBC3's The Wall?

It was Zeppotron who won that production contract and the show is meant to be about 50% new talent. If so, I suspect the shorter something is the more likely it'll make it to the show (i.e. don't send them your half-hour sitcom).

Can you send them scripts though?

Yes its 'The Wall'.Press release at www.4rfv.co.uk/industry news
Info is scant,I googled but cant find much beyond this, although chortle and crackerasscomedy.com have flagged it as interesting.Looks like they're after sketch length stuff/jokes/short animation.I'm guessing not scripts. If anyone else can find more info please put it up because it seems to be bare bones only at the moment

I suppose we could send them scripts anyway. What's the worst that could happen?

Tell us!

Zeppotron have been commissioned to make a live, weekly comedy series for BBC3. This is a massive event for comedy and we want you to be part of it.

The Wall (working title) is about showcasing freshly picked funny people. It’s about finding young people who can do funny things through writing, animation, impressions, sketches, spoofs, stand up – basically anything underneath the broad banner of ‘comedy’.

Right now we’re trawling the web for decent links. So, if you’ve spotted anyone or anything funny out there then please bung it our way. Pretty much anything goes except plain filth and/ or gratuitous violence, obviously.

So, if you’ve seen any undiscovered comedy gems out there (whether that’s yourself or someone/something you’ve seen online) then send us the link and we’ll give it a watch.

Now’s your chance… spread the word!

What to do now

If you’ve seen something funny, send us a brief email with the online link you want us to watch to dropbox@zeppotron.com Or, are you a comedy genius waiting to be put on screen? Then send us a short email with your contact details, the link/video along with anything else you think we should know.

Thanking you kindly.

Well I just sent a load of sketches in. Although I don't know if they're just looking for fully produced video, but it's worth a try.

I have some random crap I filmed ages ago... worth sending I guess... does seem like one of those shows that will probably last half a series and we'll never hear of it again.

The BBC are pumping a lot of money into it and have ordered a lot of episodes so I think it'll be around for quite a while.

That doesn't mean people will be watching of course. I have a feeling that it's going to be a bit bollocks... that is unless BSG members can get their sketches on there of course :)
