Ive just read on teletext that theres going to be an American Father Ted film!! Its apparently going to star some bloke called John Michael Higgns, who it says is in the new movie 'Fred Claus'. This all seems quite odd to me, i cant believe for a second that an American film version will bear much resemblance to the sit-com. Should be interesting to see what they do with it though, and you never know, it could be good. Well. It could be. Maybe.
FATHER TED FILM
That's got to be a load of bollocks, surely.
It's true, http://www.teletext.co.uk/entertainment/news/5/Father+Ted+-+the+movie.aspx
John Michael Higgins is a good comic actor, he was great in the episodes of Arrested Development that he was in. But I can't see the film working some how. They'll probably get some idiot like Vince Vaughn to play Dougal!
Hmmm, well, that should be ... Yes.

Sadly, yes most likely.

More like an Owen Wilson kind of thing? Though, as an inept simpleton totally unsuited to his job, it sounds like a perfect role for Steve McClaren.

Or Alastair Darling.
Not overkeen on the idea myself if I'm honest.
John Michael Higgins is a great improv guy, (A MIGHTY WIND, EVAN ALMIGHTY) so hopefully he can help out if the script is crap. Although if GL were to do a script, that wouldn't be an issue!
(I just really hope they don't futz it up, though... feck! arse!)

They will though, won't they?!?
Yup they will balls it up.
Is this actually happening though? A brief search on Google just brings up fan rumours - I can't find any concrete news from any known news companies (Teletext have removed the story they posted from that link you'll notice). Odd.
Sounds like they're trying to cover up their own gullability then. No?

I think you may be right.
God help us, Is there nothing of ours that the Americans won't get hold of and cheapen or destroy.
P.S. Watch " I'm a Celebrity Get me out of here " to see what kind of person American culture churns out.
