I want a boy assistant. And not because of any shenanigans. I think it's time for a different dynamic between Doctor and companion.
They've made an admirable attempt at that, by having an assistant who doesn't fancy him, but it's not enough!

But he didn't say them things he said!
Quote: Aaron @ April 27 2008, 11:58 PM BSTWell, not zooo. She'd just spend the whole 50 minutes giving the Doctor blowies. And then being bent over the Tardis control panel thing.
Fair point.

Fair point.
Eh? How did Star Trek come into this?
I don't get that cos I'm not geeky enough.
Believe it or not.
Star Trek isn't geeky, it's weird! (And sad.)
I think there was a space outpost called Farpoint which they made out of a living creature. I didn't google that and if it's right I'm gonna run down the street naked with my knickers on my head shouting 'Bring out ya dead'.
(presumes thread is still about Dr Who)
Has anyone else noticed that the leading Sontaron is actually Mike, from The Young Ones.
Yes.
Christopher Ryan.
And I didn't even have to look his name up. How sad.
Was he the only actor small enough?
They could have had Corbett.
But Corbett has glasses. And I don't think that his voice would have really worked quite as well.
Now there's a sketch waiting to happen...
Quote: Aaron @ April 26 2008, 10:09 PM BSTI think he would quite suit a regular part.
Maybe a new nemesis for the doctor, if he survives the next ep?
Quote: zooo @ April 27 2008, 10:14 PM BSTBut I can also see that she's not that bad. And in some scenes she totally works.
Agree, although I think she's right for the part full stop. I liked Martha, but when you see the two of them together it makes you realise how much better CT is. AND the doctor's teaching her to fly the TARDIS!! How cool is that? Has he ever done that with any other assistant?

Now you're my kinda man!
In a totally non-gay way, of course.

Until the Great One comes along, then the whips will have to come out again.
