Doctor Who Page 40

Well, I thought that scene where there was a BIG MISUNDERSTANDING because the Doctor thought Donna was leaving FOR EVAH but!! she was only popping home!! was cloying and awful and not rescued by the weak jokes at the end.

Also it was mega-lame to show that montage of Donna's adventures in the TARDIS as she was strolling down the road home. YOU HAVEN'T EARNED A MONTAGE AFTER ONLY FOUR EPISODES LUV.

I can't help it. She just annoys me.

But the things you just described were to do with the script, not with Tates performace. Yes her having the little flashbacks was a bit poo, but thats got nothing to do with her, its got to do with it having been written in the script.
Like I say, some people, for whatever reason, are just never going to give her the time of day; and after having now watched her in several episodes, I think thats a great shame.

I didn't say it about her hips, I was talking about the script

But I did notice her mum was a great actor, great timing and it kind of showed up her, ie CT, not so great acting. And I wish He'd stop the gurning and if he did, the current Doctor could be one of the best.:)

Aw, don't be mean. Everyone on TV doesn't have to be skinny.

(Apart from David.)

How are the aliens supposed to recognise The Doctor when he changes his face every few years?

I believe I answered this in my memo. In a nutshell, Dress sense, overacting, female companion, and always has a sonic screwdriver - he didn't get that at Tesco's did he!

up her, And I wish He'd stop the gurning and if he did, the current Doctor could be one of the best.:)

Yep, just tell that to Tom Baker; lovely understated performance!
Laughing out loud

Soz.
The hips comeback from your partner David Furnish was quite funny anyway. :)

(I got mine from Woolworths.)

I don't mind overstated I just don't like gurning. And I don't like Russell no clothes nicking the Gandalf stuff about Hobbits and giving it to the Doctor. OOOOOh you humans etc.

:)

Russell no clothes?
What a thought.

I dislike his gurning as well! Christopher Ecclestone had some terrible facial expressions as well.

Come on now, you cant be saying Tom Baker never gurned! I dont think he ever did anyhting other than gurn-and he was fantastic! Bakers face is incapable of doing anything other than gurning!!

Quite. But we've got to put up with her for several more!

Quite frankly I'd rather have seen Bernard Cribbins have an acid flashback involving the Wombles or the Sontaran General having a flashback to his first sexual experience.

That made me laugh like Weng Chiang!

Anyway in my haste to draw up examples of Tate badness I'd forgotten the awful "No honestly he does say good things about you" conversation with Martha and all the faux-hilarity about "isn't Dr.Who skinny" etc. That was toe-curling both in script and execution.

Toe curling stomach tightening.

Well were never going to agree then, your bad performance bits are to me deft comic delivery of lines meant to be spoken with humour. Im absolutely certain that if it were any other actress than tate giving the exact same performance there wouldnt be half as many people slagging her off. A lot of people dislike tate, whatever she does that isnt going to change. The worst acting in the whole episode, to me, was marthas rather poor delivery of the 'And Im bringing you back to earth' line-just turd; and I like her.

Deft?

There is nothing deft about the show now. Unless S Moffat writes it.

I don't really watch Dr. Who much - not being 12 and all - but why do alot of people dislike Martha? I think shes quite pretty, which is how I judge all women, obviously. Certainly better than Tate, who is ugly and cannot act.
