I've just had a bowl of frozen Paella. Well it wasn't frozen after I heated it up in the pan.

Friday night is fish and chips night. Has been since the year dot, and always will be. It's the highlight of the week, just pipping the Sunday roast.

Scone, clotted cream and jam in a Windsor tea shop.

Will Charles be popping in?

In memory of Shane MacGowan I'm having faggots for dinner tonight. Just not "cheap lousy" ones.

Just wolfed down a brisket sandwich at Buc-ee's (chain of gas stations with lots of food options). Only 232 miles of my 2700-mile drive left to go!

Love Brain's Faggots with mash and mushy peas, BUT am on a diet at the moment. 😒

Utilising a few of my fresh chillis in a spaghetti aglio e olio.
Essentially pasta with chilli and garlic infused olive oil.
Should blow my head off.

Brilliant. I have to say I don't think I've ever eaten a faggot in any meaning of the word.

I wouldn't eat a bundle of sticks bound together as fuel either

I'm snacking on some roasted chickpeas right now

Tonight, I was mostly eating a sardine salad

Last time I went to KFC I stood in line for 40 minutes while the staff ignored me so they could put together huge orders for about 15 deliveroo drivers

F**k them

F**k their secret herbs n spices

Colonel Sanders can eat my ass

Finger lickin bitches

Pancakes

😁 Asked at the Coop this morning, for some ready made pancakes on my usual daily run for my wife's newspaper , but they had sold out early!

So, not daunted, and in my newly found (forced) need to cook, I remembered I had some plain flour (3 years out of date, but no weevils fortunately!), eggs, milk and oil (all current) so have made some batter via a BBC "simple" recipe and will be cooking some tonight for eating after the lamb casserole, which has all worked out well, as it advises that you leave the batter to stand before cooking.

I might try roast swan next

I just made myself my (first) stew. Dumplings not quite done and the beef was a bit overdone.
