I pop into Tesco or Sainsbury's on my way home each evening and have whatever is in the 'reduced' section. Last night I had a lump of brie (49p) and a damaged tin of broccoli and stilton soup (50p).
What are you eating? Page 583

I always buy my food for lunch at the beginning of the week... however, unlike you I only eat salad bits for lunch. I spend about £12 for salad, avocado, cucumber, chicken pieces, tomato, coleslaw and cous cous for the week. Considering the average lunch costs about £6 to buy out in London, at £2.40 per day for lunch that's pretty good.

That's pretty good - I shall look at something similar for next week. Like I say this was just a spur of the moment thing to see what could be done. With a bit more prep I'm sure I could do better.
It made me think though and I did a search online for other ideas and the following came up as options. I think I'll pass.

Cor, that actually sounds lovely. Must get myself to supermarket reduced section!
On the menu this evening was griddled Cumberland pork sausages with crinkle chipped potatoes in a bean and tomato coulis. Guess who's been watching Master Chef...
Hee, it's very pretty. Yum.
Nothing, on a diet. Please stop showing pictures of food, saliva is ruining my keyboard.
Frozen chips

They're a damn sight better than no chips at all.
Agreed!
And agreed by me, but . . .
Chipses are great.
I'm having chips from the chip shop tomorrow for the first time in weeks. I AM VERY EXCITED.

How do you cook your chips?
