My mother makes her own version of the sandwich that is meatless so that it can travel without refrigeration. They bring them on flights and road trips.
She's a smart lady. The good thing about being veggie and especially vegan is you don't have as much concern over food either going bad or being undercooked.
Then the next night she'll grill a tasty steak.
Butt Ta for recipe, condensed milk eh, very sweet we use soft cream cheese.
Muffiletta sounds great not hard, my favourite fillings, but I could hold the ham and salami if necessary!
