Half the nominations I don't get. Lead Balloon, IT Crowd are mentioned in some but not in others. Best TV Comedy is under-repped. Also Ruth Jones isn't a comedy newcomer (Nighty Night, Little Britain, Saxondale)

Best TV comedy: Peep Show

Best new British TV comedy (scripted); Not Going Out

Best comedy entertainment programme: Never Mind The Buzzcocks

Best new comedy entertainment programme: Al Murray’s Happy Hour

Best TV comedy actor: Lee Mack (Not Going Out)

Best TV comedy actress: Ruth Jones (Gavin & Stacey/Saxondale)

Best comedy entertainment personality: Simon Amstell (Never Mind The Buzzcocks)

Best live stand-up: Dara O’Briain

Best male comedy newcomer: Matt Berry (The IT Crowd)

Best female comedy newcomer: Ruth Jones (Gavin & Stacey)

Best international comedy show: Curb Your Enthusiasm

Best comedy film: Hot Fuzz

Here's what I think should win:

Best TV comedy: Peep Show
Best new British TV comedy (scripted): Not Going Out [actually although I'm not a huge fan, Gavin and Stacey should win as it is the only new comedy out of the three!]
Best comedy entertainment programme: Harry Hill's TV Burp
Best new comedy entertainment programme: Fonejacker
Best TV comedy actor: Kevin Bishop
Best TV comedy actress: Ruth Jones
Best comedy entertainment personality: Stephen Fry
Best live stand-up: Dara O'Briain
Best male comedy newcomer: Matt Berry
Best female comedy newcomer: Sharon Horgan
Best international comedy show: The Office: An American Workplace
Best comedy film: Borat

And here's my prediction as to what will probably win because the judges are biased towards certain shows:

Best TV comedy: Peep Show
Best new British TV comedy (scripted); Gavin and Stacey
Best comedy entertainment programme: The Friday Night Project
Best new comedy entertainment programme: The Graham Norton Show
Best TV comedy actor: David Mitchell
Best TV comedy actress: Catherine Tate
Best comedy entertainment personality: Simon Amstell
Best live stand-up: Alan Carr
Best male comedy newcomer: James Corden
Best female comedy newcomer: Ruth Jones
Best international comedy show: Curb Your Enthusiasm
Best comedy film: Hot Fuzz

Fairly easy choices for me, that's probably not a good thing though!! I've never seen Gavin & Stacey though so maybe it would be different if I had.

Best TV comedy: Peep Show
Best new British TV comedy (scripted); Not Going Out
Best comedy entertainment programme: Buzzcocks
Best new comedy entertainment programme: Don't like any of them, Al Murray if I must.
Best TV comedy actor: Lee Mack (David Mitchell very close second.)
Best TV comedy actress: Again, not inspired by the choices, but it has to be Ruth Jones.
Best comedy entertainment personality: Stephen Fry
Best live stand-up: Simon Amstell
Best male comedy newcomer: Matt Berry! Ace.
Best female comedy newcomer: Sharon Horgan
Best international comedy show: Curb. Obviously.
Best comedy film: Hot flipping Fuzz. But they never win anything at the comedy awards, much like The Boosh, so they won't get it.

In fact, I predict that everything I don't like, will win. As usual.

Another bad line up but here what I would like to see win:

Best TV comedy: Peep Show

Best new British TV comedy (scripted); Not Going Out

Best comedy entertainment programme: Harry Hill’s TV Burp

Best new comedy entertainment programme: Al Murray’s Happy Hour (don't like any though)

Best TV comedy actor: Lee Mack (Not Going Out)

Best TV comedy actress: Liz Smith

Best comedy entertainment personality: Stephen Fry

Best live stand-up: Simon Amstell

Best male comedy newcomer: (sorry I really can't choose, just awful choices)

Best female comedy newcomer: Sharon Horgan

Best international comedy show: The Office: An American Workplace

Best comedy film: Hot Fuzz

I've not seen any of the nominated films, so can't vote. Darn!

Too boring to contemplate ... <stands aside for next comedy geek>

Best comedy entertainment programme: Never Mind The Buzzcocks
Best new comedy entertainment programme: The Graham Norton Show (not much choice but never seen the other two)

Best TV comedy actress: Ruth Jones (Gavin & Stacey/Saxondale)
Best comedy entertainment personality: Stephen Fry (QI)
Best live stand-up: Dara O’Briain
Best male comedy newcomer: James Corden (Gavin & Stacey)
Best female comedy newcomer: Sharon Horgan (Rob Brydon’s Annually Retentive/Pulling)
Best international comedy show: Curb Your Enthusiasm
Best comedy film: Borat

A few odd things there though, such as Ruth Jones in best new female? Really? Im sure Ive seen someone who looks just like her in tons of programmes over the last few years . . .

I'll add these up the week before so we can have our own results. I look forward to the official BCG one though. Hopefully we'll have a say in the nominations ;)

Probably not.
