Only Child

The whole series is on iPlayer now. I liked the first episode. Gentle comedy, likeable characters and it's great to see Gregor Fisher leading a sitcom again.

You know, I just could not place him in the promo, which seems silly now, but it did not help when I could not get Frank Carson out of my head

Will give it a look

It's not really a comedy sadly.
It's way too gentle in that modern BBC dramedy style as in we can't possibly offend anyone
Nice to see Gregor back on screen and they pull in a few of the great old Scottish comedy actors(John Buick and Billy Mack as the two Brians) in the Birthday episode that for my money is the best episode
But it's all just a bit too twee.
Sadly,I just don't see where the next generation of quality Scottish comedy actors is going to come from.

I did manage to catch Gregor on Saturday Brunch working Only Child last week and you can still tell he doesn't like being associated with the Raab character even though it's what almost everyone remembers him for.

I enjoyed it and will def. watch again. Loved the joke about his ipad not working! 😆

It's definitely way too gentle. I would love a full on bawdy sitcom like Gimme Gimme Gimme now.

Well, still enjoying this and thought the second episode was better than the first

I'm finding Only Child enjoyable, but agree that, like many comedies now, it's not quite laugh-a-minute and something really raucous and explicitly funny like Gimme Gimme Gimme would be a hugely welcome addition to the scheduled.

On episode 3 and don't think I'll bother with the rest. Gentle is the word. It's fine, but not funny.

Well, I'm still enjoying it - not a riot of fun, but gentle humour, and I see nothing wrong in that

I withdraw my post from a week ago, as sadly it has lost its way, and now I have cancelled my digi-box link - pity, as I so like Gregor Fisher
