This was a Radio 4 series in the early 80s. There was a funny sketch I recall listening to around this time and think it was from one of these. I would love to find it again. Essentially it was an interviewer talking to a man whose vocabulary was only 7 words. However the way they did it, the answers the chap gave seemed fine. Some of the words he used (in combinations) were amazing, actually and possibly absolutely. Can anyone recall and let me know if it's available somewhere?!!
Radio 4 Cliche and Son of Cliche sketch
Neither are currently available, but both aired on Radio 4 Extra this and last year, so your best bet is to look out for them to be run again.
It's also not uncommon that such repeats come ahead of an digital audio release. Nothing's been announced yet but if they come up we'll carry the news in our Shop Newsletter (see the blue band at the bottom of the page).
Listened to this recently on 4extra and it's pretty poor tbh
One interesting sketch though was all about a man marooned alone on a space ship out in space
Obviously this show is written by the creators of Red Dwarf - and this sketch was clearly RD in its embryonic stages
The original series is up on YouTube now
Bit of a son of In One Ear.
It was a good time for radio comedy though - Radio Active, The Bodgers (early Absolutely), Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy, In One Ear, Wank Ending, broadcast on Radio 4 at 11.30 on Saturday night with a Friday afternoon repeat. Remember cassette tapes...
