I tend to think nobody ever wins by default. No matter how unpopular the government is (and make no mistake, this government really is VERY unpopular) the voters won't take a chance on anyone new unless they are sure they can do better. Labour's reputation has improved dramatically under Starmer. If Labour win, it'll be because people genuinely want a Labour Government under Keir Starmer.

Starmer is boring but competent and decent. The polls suggest people have had enough of being ruled by incompetent childish Tory leaders.
It's not just about the leaders though! We're electing a government not choosing a president!

And whose fault is that? If Starmer is such low hanging fruit then it should have been easy for the Tory party to pick a leader and some decent policies to win an election, but they didn't, they were too busty in-fighting. The Tories and the right wing only have themselves to blame for the upcoming result.

Seems a few of them in the know bet on the election date (Illegal)

Id be interested if any of these people actually backed their side to win also ...

The BBC can reveal that the Conservative Party's director of campaigning Tony Lee is also being looked into by the Gambling Commission over an alleged bet relating to the timing of the general election.
The BBC reported earlier this morning that Lee - who, we understand, took a leave of absence from his job yesterday afternoon - is married to the Conservative candidate who is also being looked into by the betting industry regulator.
