The "Johaness "/"Your Highness" gag made me hoot.
Amandaland Page 2
I watched episodes 1 and 2 before but binged eps 3 to 6 this evening.
Great stuff. I do kinda miss the old Motherland gang but have come to really like this new group of characters here, not to mention the bigger roles for Anne and Felicity.
Hope it gets a Series 2, I like where they left it!
I never really watched much of Motherland but am watching this. As Aaron says great to see Joanna and also Amanda gets into some very embarrassing situations.
Watched 1 & 2 and I am enjoying it. I'm sure I know somebody like her.
Already re-commissioned for a second series, apparently. Nice!

Good.
It's amazing that such a glamorous woman allows herself to go through all those things to happen to her. They like her to Frank Spencer.
What does her being glamorous have to do with it?
(Friendly question ! Not having a go at anyone. Just curious!)
I thought episode 3 was very good and a great improvement on the slightly bland car boot sale one. Although I'm still in two minds about the miserable Irish chef character.

Everything. If she was a slob what would be funny about her getting knocked over by a football? What would be funny about her coming out of the jacuzzi and having to go home barely dressed. She prides herself on her appearance. It's the typical fish out of water. Having to downsize.
Good point!
Absolutely. The character of Amanda epitomises that kind of west London aspirational middle-class flawless yummy mummy. She's incredibly glam, hence why the pratfalls are hilarious.
I'm more Anne, minus the Irishness (that's my son's heritage) PhD and well, the many kids, whom apart from her eldest aren't seen. In Motherland Anne was mum to a fairly large brood, hence the huge people carrier everyone wanted their child to have a seat in.
