What can I say about this mess.
I'd read somewhere that it was bad, but didn't realise just how bad - it was grim, and even the bemused Frankie Howerd couldn't save it, as he bumbled his way through this disjointed shambles, with a Chinese Lionel Blair looking like a demented Hitchcock murderer, Tommy Cooper looking confused as to what the hell he was doing in such a debacle and Mike and Bernie Wint.............nope, can't go on as it was simply dire. The only person to come out of it with some credit was the American Stubby Kaye, as he seemed to be the only one who knew what was going on.
Michael Winner's first film apparently, loosely based on Gilbert & Sullivan's comic opera - AWFUL, nope BLOODY AWFUL
