Yes googled and found Gallileo Condor 50mm rangefinder produced in 1949 which was also made in 35mm viewfinder versions under the better known Italian brand Ferrania in the '50s. As with most things Italian they appear to be more noted for design style than function, although I've definitely read of that one pro/semi pro snapper saying he preferred using the Italian camera for his work. Just hazy now on who it was, but definitely in the b&w era.

I know, that was my point. My memory has to come from when I was interested in photography in the 80s (not my 80s!) and read this in a magazine article about a certain person's taste in cameras.
