Just a quickie sketch from a sitcom.
Two blokes meet in a pub.
CHRIS: Alright Phil! Pint is it?
PHIL: Yeah i'll try one...i've just seen your Julie in the shop, didn't seem herself.
CHRIS: I know! One of her oldest friends was knocked and killed by a bus yesterday.
PHIL: Never! how awful...How old was she?
CHRIS: 47, quite ironic really.
PHIL: Why would that be ironic?
CHRIS: Cos that's the number of the bus that hit her first.
PHIL: You mean there was more than one?
CHRIS: Oh yes, mind you the 47 only struck her a glancing blow, it was the 82 following just behind that did the damage...bloody typical, you wait ages for a bus then two come along at once.
It's always the woman, isn't it? If she's not ironing then she's being run over by a bus - sorry, 2 busses.
