How to be a comedy writer?

Hello everyone, I'm a budding comedy [in particular sitcoms] writer, however I don't know how to get into the industry etc.

Advice and suggestions of who to sent my material to would be gladly accepted.

Many thanks - JJ.

I'd like to help, but gave up sending in unsolicited material (Hale & Pace, Little & Large, Brian Conley) back in the last century lol, when the world of comedy writing was a different place, it seems to me reading this forum.

I sincerely wish you the best of luck, though, as that's what you need - luck, and lots of it. šŸ˜‰

Thank you Herc, much appreciate your kind words.

I guess you need to go in for the various competitions and submit works to shows inviting submissions. Canal Theatre Cafe does shows every week in London and asks for submissions for sketches.

Thank you Chappers, I will look for some competitions.
