I like reading about the team and what went on behind the scenes and how they worked and communicated with each other. It's remarkable how Graham Chapman went cold turkey to quit alcohol because he was heading to an early grave and also knew it was the only way to secure the part of Brian. He shut himself away for a few weeks and did it alone and John Cleese said they were all supportive but at the time none of them understood the dangers because it wasn't as widely known as it is today. It was only about five years ago that I discovered how sudden withdrawal from alcohol dependency can cause all kinds of unpleasant symptoms including death from respiratory collapse. I had never heard of Delirium Tremens and always assumed apart from being a bit irritable for a while and a few sleepless nights quitting alcohol was no more dangerous than quitting smoking.
