Second Best Bed (1938)

Twice I've tried to watch this film, but it's so slow and unfunny, it appears something has been lost in time translation, which is based on a Ben Travers farce (literally in this case!) and the title apparently comes from Shakespeare's will which stated 'I give unto my wife my second best bed'.

You can just see this being made today, as the whole point of it is a young woman marrying an older bloke who has strict views on a wife obeying the husband, no matter what, and presumably being devoid of humour, to boot.

No one of note in it, except farter extraordinaire Martita Hunt and Carl Jaffe, who some may remember had a flash of publicity here on BCG a year or two ago, when interest was struck up about bit part actors, and his son posted a few times.
