Our Flag Means Death

Yes, an American production, with mostly British crew - has it's moments and has made me want to see more. Could be a good series, but there again.........................

I was very tired and probably not in the best state to judge it, but I thought it was okay. It didn't exactly blow me away, but Rhys Darby is always entertaining and the premise is quite appealing.

Well, based on the "They put all the best bits in the trailer" maxim, I'm not sure this is going to be for me.
Will give it a go - lots of good people involved but it all looks a bit 'basic'.

I watched it all a few months back. I liked it from the start but it took me a few episodes for it to really click, and then I LOVED it. If you liked it at all I strongly suggest you stick with it! It's now one of my favourite shows of the last few years.

Oh well, there's encouragement for you. Ta, zooo! ?

Yes Echo Zooo
I've seen it all and it's worth persevering with

I've seen the first few episodes - I'm liking it so far - not necessarily bust-a-gut hilarious, but quite entertaining. It does seem to get better as it goes on, maybe to do with becoming more familiar with the characters and the whole set-up of it.

Nobody's mentioned on this thread yet, but if any readers are unfamiliar with it, it's about pirates.

I've got Ep1 on the V6 player ready to be watched and need to give it a go. I love What We Did In The Shadows and less so, The Flight of The Conchords but - hey, I'm open to suggestions.*

* Comedy wise, not in any other way, shape, or form.

Tried watching the pilot and episode 1 - dreadfully not funny in the least. Not one laugh. I suppose it's another example of shows like Witchfinder which are described as 'gentle comedies'. Call me old fashioned but I'd rather funny comedies.

That's it - I did try. Deleted my digi-box link. Finding this prog confusing and simply not funny enough.

I laugh all the way through. It's not for everyone, I guess!

Comedy is subjective but I didn't laugh because I didn't find the jokes funny, I just couldn't identify any jokes in either speech or situation.

Genuine question Zooo, what exactly are you laughing at?

I don't think it would be possible (or interesting) for me to list each line that I found funny, but trust me that they are very frequent! Pretty much everything Rhys Darby says is funny.
Have you ever watched Flight of the Conchords or What We Do in the Shadows? They have a similar feel (and some of the same people). I would assume you wouldn't like them either, but all three make me laugh.

Tried both in the past and didn't really get it. Maybe it's me? I think Ghosts is dreadful as well but Mrs Will Cam loves it (says it's funny but never actually laughs out loud!).

I enjoyed this show along with Zooo
It's not Dads Army or Only Fools, but it is engaging and funny
And having watched it all the way through I think those that have bailed have bailed at the right time.
